Clumsy Prince
Known issues
- The web export from Godot 4.x targets WebGL 2.0 and requires SharedArrayBuffer, both of which are not supported by iOS and Mac OS.
- FIXED in 0.2.1
Playing on Windows with a display scale different than 100% will result in weird layouts. This was discovered after the game was published for Mini Jam 145. We plan to push a fix for that after the voting period is over, to respect the jam's rules.
Once upon a time...
In a faraway land, a prince has trained all his youth in order to defend his kingdom against the invading forces of evil. Sounds cliche? It's because those things happen more often than we think.
That prince is you. And the time is now.
Enemies will come at you, and will never stop doing so. In fact, they will become stronger as the time passes.
As if it was not enough, the temperature is dropping fast. And the more ice magic is cast, the worse it's gonna get. Try not to freeze your whole kingdom while trying to defend it!
Oh, one last thing! We said the prince was trained, but we did not mention that he was not the most studious of all. As such, let's just say that he does not exactly fully control his superpowers.
With that and the winter coming, it's unclear how much the prince can help, really...
Good luck!
Some tips
The game is over if you lose all your health, or if the temperature drops too low.
Frozen enemies do not deal damage anymore, and can still be destroyed, though they are way tougher that way.
Ice patches can be reduced and melted by running over them.
Each frozen enemy and ice patch makes the temperature go down faster, so make sure to get rid of them as fast as you can!
Loot cards can be dropped by enemies or spawn randomly. They will greatly help you save the day. Make sure to grab them!
Controls
- Move with the arrows, or WASD (or your equivalent)
- Aim with your mouse
- Toggle auto-aiming with Spacebar
- Pause the game with Escape
Dev notes
This game was developed by two brothers, both programmers. The stock graphics and generated audio assets probably gave that away. ;)
It was made for Mini Jam 145:
- Theme: Frozen
- Limitation: Inconvenient superpowers
This is our third game jam and the first where we are mostly satisfied with what we could complete. There's a full game loop, some kind of balance, and not too many issues. At least, we did not find any game-breaking bug, so there's that. If you find one, please let us know!
